alpine head unit poping out

  172 turbo
Hey can anybody help me with the old problem of aftermarket headunit poping out, I've got a nice alpine unit but pops out passenger side not drivers due to cable space is there any tricks or anything I can do to keep it in flush cheer?

Mine did this, i just kept playing and pushing the wires down to the sides and pushing the head unit it and it eventually just clicked in mate.

Perseverance!

If it's not clicking in then it might be a problem with the frame for the head unit, the catches on the side might have got bend when you were pushing it in, make sure the catches on the metal frame haven't been pushed outward by accident.

Hmm, there are two types of Alpine cage.

One hooks in the old fashioned way. And the other (like mine) has two little circlular shaped things right at the front. If they clip in it should not push out.

Your's sounds like the first type, which has clips half way back along the cage that should catch on the head unit.

I think its the wires are stopping the headunit pushing fully back into place.
You need to try and move the wires out the way, so you can push the headunit right back until it clicks. It should be flush with the cage.

ye because what happens is that i push the popping out side back in then drive a bit hard and it comes out either wires the problem or something else? any ideas how or where to tidy wires up, impossible to see inside or from top?

I just did mine again today after fitting some rca cables and on mine there is a big space down to the left, if you feed all the wires in first there should be enough room, push them all right down as far as they will go and you'll find it all fits in :)

The bit of plastic just above the cigarette lighter/compartment comes off. You can reach up behind and there should be a hole you can feel, so you can pull the wiring harness down through that. That's what I did.
Although mine's a non sport, so don't know if the climate control module bit confuses things lol.

theres a massive space in between the radio and the glovebox behind the dash, aim to push the wires towards that, ive got my wires + 2 crossovers in there.
there should be a few guides to get the dash of etc in the guides bit
