Alternative to iphone?

i quite fancy an iphone but thier really just to expensive, whats a good alternative? an equviliant blackberry? what one? i dont really know much abotu what phones are about..

A mate of mine has got a N900. It seems to be an awesome piece of kit but is pretty hefty. I dont think they are being released for a while though.
