Alternator help from an expert please

BIG PROBLEMS

The past few months I had water in one of my Xenon headlights. Sometimes, the Xenon bulb gives a short circuit. They changed the Xenon 3 times under warranty.

Now today I'm driving and suddenly the ABS, SERV, Airbaglight on the dash comes on. The wipers become slower, etc... I knew there was a loss of flow.
I turned of the engine, turned it on and .... no power anymore.

I called assitence and 1)Xenon light gave short circuit 2) alternator death.

I don't know the exact word for alternator in English, but it is the thing that charges the battery while your driving

Now my question. Can this alternator be broken due to a short circuit in that Xenonlight (due to water)? If it's possible, it's under warranty. If not, I have to pay it myself. Car is 2 weeks out of warranty

I hope someone knows the answer. I have to go to the dealer tomorrow and I have to know what to say.
I don't think it's normal an alternator dies within 2 years (60.000 miles)?

Id say no, fuses are there to prevent things like that happening so your Alternator shouldnt be damaged as a result of the Xenon's short circuiting.

But I'm not sure it's due to that. The assistance guy who helped me, placed a new battery, so I could drive to the dealer. When I started, the Xenonlight worked again. When we arrived at the dealer, battery was almost empty again

The alternators are usless but check the wiring to them thats the main failure on them.
