Alternator on my 182

Car sounds like its the alternator but surely this shouldnt happen on my car yet should it? The car is a 04 plate with 23k on the clock. I have a extended warranty with Renault but do you think they will replace this under warranty? Cars going in Thursday but forgot to ask them

Well it a renault so anything is possible. What noise is it making? Whistling? If it is under warrenty they should fix it.

It is making a whistling / whirling noise and sounds as if it could be the alternator other than that think its going to be expensive for Renault.

Thank God I've still got the warranty, think that will be used a fair bit over the next year
