Aluminium Bonnet Question

How can you tell if your Mk1 172 has an aluminium bonnet?

Mine feels light but is there any other way of telling?

James - Why would I want your sister on it, she might scratch it, got to be very careful with having girls on bonnets.

When was the car registered?

IIRC all later models did not have them so I doubt it has although the Exclusive may of been different

Mines a non exclusive (Reg Mar 01) and it doesnt have an Alu bonnet or Shift light

Try the magnet test! Mines a 2000 mk1 172, has ally bonnet and shift light, not sure what year they stopped doing ally bonnets, if it feels light prob is ally tho
