Amazing deal on service costs

Not sure if this has been posted already, as I don't bother reading half the crap on here these days!

My car had a routine health check at Renault Cannock earlier this week, so I enquired about the 36k service cost. Apparently it was likely to be around £280 as they've got some deals on. I thought that was pretty good.

However, I've just had a call from Renault Cannock to check how my visit went and to offer me a service deal. Basically for a flat fee of £240 I get my next two services and two MOTs!!! That's all parts, labour and VAT. I checked 3 times to make sure it was correct. My 36k is due in a couple of months the way I'm going.

I doubt I'll own the car much beyond it's first MOT, but that's still a bargain.:approve:

Thats a hell of a deal! Though have to wonder those services would include, as it obvioulsy wouldnt include aux belt which is due at the 48k service isn't it?

That's what I thought, so I asked again, and she claimed it was the manufacturers service schedules they follow. Either way, it's still a cheaper 36k for me.

Don't worry Chris, I'm motoring through them at the moment. Worked until 12.20 last night. :sleepy: Just tearing a Force India around Monza.

Here it is. "Renault Service Plans cover everything required in a standard service as detailed in your service handbook, including parts and labour, but exclude replacing normal wear and tear items such as brake pads, windscreen wipers or tyres."

Surely it must cover belts, as they're standard on that particular service? Either way, still cheap as chips.

i await the catch.

I've still got that in the back of my mind, but looking at the current prices main dealers are charging for servicing, tyres etc. they're pretty reasonable compared to what they were 12 months ago.

services are a rip off but to keep the cars value up you need the stamp imo. i always though the service was to change all the fluids etc and anything you needed replaced would come out your pocket. i was quoted around the 700 mark for doing the belts only plus another 250 for the service so thats quite a lot of money.

i wouldnt take it to renault tbh. i would vouch for garages that do a lot of tuning work on renaults etc.

Argh, mine is due then :( I'm on 60k but f**king lost my service book :(
You can apply to gte a new one can't you and get the one garage to stamp it as they have proof those services have been done at main delaers if that is the case.

The car had a few services before I bought it. I have had it serviced once since I've had it, it was stamped so I could get it stamp again.

But then it would be part service history right?

Also how much is the book gonna cost lol, probably £200 knowing Renault.

Flol £200! A million if Renault pricing is anything to go by!

I didn't think the belts were part of the actual service, just that they're recommended to be changed at the same mileage intervals as the service.

The belts aren't part of the service as far as know. I know when I enquired with Renault I had to seperate the two - Aux belt replacing and a 36K service.

aux belt on a 197 lasting 5years? good luck with that one! luckily its a piss easy job to do

Even though it's just the standard service, that's still cheap, as they're normally £200!

I'll probably come and see you for the belts, unless they do me a seriously good deal.

I just noticed they bill as Renault Manchester for the service plan.
