An awesome project, but i fail to see the point in spaceframing a car that he is going to use in some poxy Scottish championship. I thought maybe it'd turn out to be a rally cross car, but obviously not.

I can't really talk, but i wouldn't bother with a Focus personally.

If it was a rally cross car though, fair play, you need to spend that sort of money to be competitive.

Doesn't say, but that is a dry carbon kit considering he could lift that spoiler with his pinky. For reference, i looked into one for the NSX and it was £90k LOL.

Talked to some of my mates about this who are ford nuts and they say he hasnt been on the scene for long but the white one in the pics is his old car which maxed out at 196mph.The blue one is over 150bhp over that so will beat the 200mph barrier at bruntigthorpe later this year.

He is a welder/fabricator by trade and set himself up in business a few years ago apparently and this is what he does spend his tax on.

The car in question was originally a full wrc rally spec shell and he set about replaicing everything to make it as light as possible with carbon.He even cut the floor off and raised it 2 inches for some reason

Not true, Andy's been in the game a good few years now. Used to have a webpage with his cars.

He used to race an Escort Cosworth at Crail and KH, which was running stupid power too. He's definitley stepped it up with this effort tho.

I bloody missed it at Knockhill last week as well!

Just found this after doing a quick search. I was up at knockhill today at a trackday (just watching) and this car was on and it was unbelieveably quick. There was a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera on the track as well and the focus was a fair bit quicker than it in the straights and through the corners, was great to watch it real in the Lambo over the course of a few laps.
