Amp Problems

  Twingo GT
Hey all, wonder if somebody could shed some light on this for me...

Wired up all my amp etc for my speakers but nothing is coming on, checked the remote wire, checked the fuses, checked the connections, reset everything, tried it all again but still nothing, thought it could be the amp, so i tried my other one, and this still didnt work?

anybody any ideas? im a bit stumped

yeah its earthed, tried earthing it in different places and still nothing (all against chassis)

sounds like a bad earth even although u said u have changed it both could be bad ive fitted many amps i would try sanding your earth point and if that doesnt help ill post a few other things

ive got a wire brush that goes on my drill, i stripped the primer off and it was bare metal and still nothing

another thing is that most clios have two remote wires only 1 is live tho other is a backup and do you have spare fuses

Id use a small piece of wire and connect the live on the amp straight to the remote terminal on the amp, just to make sure its turning on.

Use a multimeter and check that you actually have power at the amp for both the remote and the power loom, use the continuity to check the earth. Most common is the remote lead has a break in it

thanks for all your help :) and as MT audio said, i had a break in the remote wire right in the middle... ran a new one through and now works great :)
