DO I GET AN ENGINE TRANSPLANT TO A BIGGER 8V ENGINE OR DO I BUY A LOWER MILAGED 1.4 ENGINE AND WORK ON IT (HEAD WORK CAMS ETC) MAKING IT FAST AS POSSIBLE AS A 1.4THEN DUMPING THE MODIFIED LOW MILAGED 1.4 IN MY NICE CLIO.

Just save your money and build up your no claims bonus until you can afford a standard fast car and then save up even more so you can modify it

id go for the Megane conversion from Hill Power mate

main reason bein, you get a new engine with that, well, one with 30k on or less, but you also get a Lumenition ECU, which usually on its own costs £400

it isnt a big jump in power, but its still workable the engine, and you got more time to do it, and it wont be wasted on an engine thats gonna die in a year or two

plus as long as your insurance company dont mind engine conversions it will still be cheaper than a 16v etc, which i know is probably one of the main reasons your considerin a transplant
 


Nah, build up ya no claims and get a fast car. I did - its the best way to do it, honestly. Modded engines can have serious reliability problems if done badly...
