Annoying noise..

Right time for a game.

Guess the sound! have an annoying whining noise coming from somewhere. My guess is alternator?? It doesnt increase in noise/speed when you blip the throttle it stays constant.

Hmmm on doing a bit of searching im wondering whether its the dephaser?? :S

Only had the cambelt done last year...not sure if that was changed though,

I wouldnt think that was the dephaser dude, sounds like a belt to me, checked the condition of the aux belt?

Its the outer one isnt it?

I no this might be a pain but remove the aux belt and re start it if noise has gone ur no its something thats run by the aux belt and not cambelt and it will also give you a chance to have a feel of all ur pulleys while ur aux belt is off see if any of them are noise when turned by hand

which is the aux belt though?? Thats the outer one I can see yes??

Noise has shut up since its got a bit warmer. Im wondering if the cold was maikng it do that?? Also had a "slight" whine on start-up from the clutch but that seems to of gone too!
