Another Gtechniq Question

  ITB BG 182
I have just had both front and rear bumpers resprayed but took it to some one that is well known for very good work yet they dont skimp on thickness of paint.

So what Gtechniq stuff is needed for paintwork?
I have alcohol/meth wipes but what else is needed, they will be getting treatment before being put back on the car.

Cheers.

p,s. Any offers going Gally?

John, just realised I've not replied to your PM from yonks ago! Apologies!

C1 is the old favourite, but isn't sold any more. It's now taken the form of C1+ and C1.5 Silo Seal, which just don't offer the same longevity.

However, C5 and C4 are supposed to be the same product (pretty sure it's now all been confirmed, after an uproar!!) so you could purchase one of these and apply it. It can be tricky to apply and needs a completely clean base. Worth reading up on it as your surface will need to be 100% clear of swirls as well (no point otherwise!).

Failing that, I would seriously consider looking into the C-Quartz line;

C1.5 is the same as c4 and 5, now all the same new formula. Don't think any of them still use the old formula

Its easier to apply than the old formula, but doesnt perform as well so I'm lead to believe

The C1+ kit (not the C1.5 bit), C4 and C5 are all the same product in different bottles. They have all been reformulated and none are the original product anymore. The reformulated product is supposed to offer better scratch resistance, better protection from elements, better durability but have poorer hydrophobic properties (how many judge durability) hence the need to use C1.5 on top of it. It's also slightly easier to use but still requires a perfectly clean surface to bond to.

so under the new formular it is not as good? just dont want to be going loopy loo on cleaning anymore. Do it best, do it once.

It's not as good mate. New Cquartz UK is very good and much easier to use.

Does it last as long and make cleaning easier ie jet wash and little scrubbing.

Will it repel, sheet water just as good as the Gtech stuff?

Final question, how much will one bottle cover?
