Another speaker advice thread!

  SchwepTek™
I currently have a Sony H/U powering a Sony 500 watt amp/Sony 1200watt sub and sony co-axials all round!

I want to get rid of the sub as it weighs too much and takes up too much room so what are my best options for some decent sound?

Not a fan of 6x9s but could be persuaded or am i better off just putting some components in the front?

Cheers guys!

I know i know but none of the speaker know it all's answered! Think matt__trev is one of them! :)

  Mustang, S13, AX GT
components in the front alone would not provide anywhere near the bass of the sub.

You could try something along the lines of 6.5" mid bass woofers or 8" subs or as you said 6x9s. Personally I would still go with the sub, just a smaller 1.

If you get that it will still produce plenty of bass, and in a box would hopefully be light enough for you to be happy.

What he said.

I'd never recommend 6x9's to anyone.

^^ id say downsize the sub. Otherwise the sound quality will drop.

....or buy a 172 and fit a 12" in the spare wheel well ftw ;)

I have some bloody awesome Components if you want them mate. I bought them for my Old Golf Turbo but never got round to fitting them. They were quite a lot of money, and everyone seems to rate them.

I'll find a link. They will need to be amped to get the best out of them. Just these on their own will make your interior mirror shake!!

Wiring them is a piece pf piss Andy. Alternatively, Sextons/Uplands can fit them for £30. Thats what they quoted me when I got them.

There is a for sale thread for them ;)
