X2 Clio Valvers
Hey guys!
Some of you may have seen my other project on here which came to a sudden halt when my tools went walkies.
Anyhow, since then my girlfriend bought me this for my birthday
She's in a bit of a state at the moment after the lad I bought it from lost the back end in the rain, span a few times and took a signpost out the ground
Results are;
Fooked O/S front shocker
Smashed N/S rear quarter window
Badly dented rear quarter
Fooked tyres and a bent rear stub/hub.
I know for sure the chassis are still straight and the rear beam is too surprisingly, haven't had a proper look yet as haven't got all necessary tools.
Anyway while I'm saving up for a new welder etc I thought I'd tidy the inside up and sort the electrical niggles,
Central locking doesn't work, reverse lights come on randomly even when it's not in reverse, wiring has been butchered! and the dash has holes drilled in it, so I got a new/second hand dash, cleaned it all and painted it with halfords flexible vinyl paint, here's a pic of the centre console
you can see the difference from before and after in that pic, here's the completed one
Looks like new! I've also done the whole dash in the same colour and done the top dash satin black, I've even painted the torx screws as they were chipped and messy.
I put a new rear quarter glass on it also.
Most recent things I've done are put a magnex on [emoji14]
reverse lights [emoji38] sounds great with the decat, and set about removing the old dash and loom for tomorrow as it got dark. That about brings it up to date but I will update as and when. Sorry for the lack of photos, my phones broke so have to borrow the Mrs phone...
Here's a brief list of what needs doing as I'll no doubt come across loads more along the way,
The obvious stuff
Rear quarter and sills, suspension is getting changed for 172 along with box and shafts and rear stub axles, brakes etc,
Door hinge posts needs welding as some tosser couldn't be arsed to undo the 2 torx pins holding the door on so they cut it off!
Engine needs a bit of work (smokey on over run) interior is getting replaced with full leather as that's what it should have in from the factory and then repainting. Doesn't sound too much but as said more will add itself onto the list! Sorry again for the lack of photos and it been a bit muddled up! Will update over the next few days.
Mark
