good point but with full service history should it not have already been changed?

  Nothing at the mo :(
looks a good'n, there seems to be loads off them for sale atm.
Only negative thing I can think off is that the belt will need changing rather soonish

Not rather soon.. ASAP.. 5 years or miles.. whatever is sooner.. and on that car its 2 years over due

just been to have a look, its a good car, inside is nice, there is a small mark on the front bumper which they reckon they can sort out, cambelt hasnt been done though, he rang his mechanic who deals with evo's etc. apparently and it will cost £200 for the cambelt to be done but it is an engine out job, i said no i would rather take it to fred.

as much as i would love a ph1 i just dont think i could live with the interior change coming from a ph2 non-sport

FLOL.

I'd have a ph1 any day over a ph2 after owning both.

And for the £2k in my pocket difference from the links you're putting up (and better mpg/cable throttle/looks IMO) it really REALLY is a no brainer.

But hey ho ;)

If you buy, definitely DO NOT let some monkey do the £600 belt job for £200. Bought my 182 from big main (not Renault) dealer who did the belt before the sale. Let's just say Mick from Diamond Motors is coming on Monday to strip it down and sort it, luckily the dealer is paying under warranty.

Yeah exactly, he says that this bloke is an evo specialist and £600 is way too much for the job and I will be getting ripped off, I told him that if I do buy Fred will be doing them as it requires specialist tools
