Anti Theft Valve Caps - help

  Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique
Hi guys

Bought my clio about 2 months ago, today went to go and fill up some air in the tyres and i can't get the valve caps off

I think they must be some anti theft ones but i don't have the release key!

do valve caps have universal keys?
or what is the best way of doing this?

thanks

if they are round headed ones just pinch them as you undo them, if they are hex head ones then there will be a small hex screw in the side of them, probably get them off with pliers

Make your own. its usually just a notch in the top to secure the spinning outer bits.
If they arent anti-theft then they are just corroded and stuck fast.

I have the type where the outside spins and the middle has an off-center pinhole, they're probably defeatable using something with a small point and using something else to steady the whole thing and stop you from just bending the valve over instead of turning it....

Get some pics up and someone will be able to tell you how to get them off I'm sure :)

WD40 on them and then try a spanner, but don't really go to town with it, don't want to knacker the valve, there may also be a little tiny grub srew on one side

I had these on mine, they are a nightmare to get off if you dont have the correct tool, I used a set of jaw pliers that sort of clamp onto it and I used a set of normal pliers to turn the valve the opposite way, worked great, they came off in seconds, then they went straight in the bin where they belong.
