Clio 1.2 16v
Hi there,
For the past month or so I've had my eye on a certain 182 currently for sale in the cars for sale section. A month ago when i did a quick insurance quote on go compare (for a general idea, nothing set in stone yet) the quotes came in at just under the £1k mark (20yo guy working in a bar, the only saviour is my postcode!). This was fine and all, I had even got several more quotes over the next fortnight to make sure it wasn't a mistake.
Fastforward to now, just got quotes for both the aforementioned 182 ff and a 172 cup, and both are £2k all of a sudden. There have been no changes to my details, still have my no-claims and no speeding tickets or anything. On top of this, quotes for other cars (my current 1.2, an mx5 1.8, Volvo T5 S50 and Subaru Legacy) have all stayed within £50 of the quotes I got at the same time as the original 182 quote.
Anyone have any idea why the 182 insurance prices have doubled? I'm really hoping its just a temporary thing
