Any probelms when collecting your new renaults?

Car  Black Gold with cup packs
I am going to pick up my brand new 197 cup next week, has anyopne had any problems when picking up their new cars?
If so what should I check or look out for?

No Cup badges. Splitter in a bag on the back seat. No lighter in the socket. About two months later it was all sorted.

Cans of tyre foam, luggage net if applicable, all the manuals, service book, spare key, locking wheel nuts and removal tool.

I had no problems at all.

Best to do the usual checks though, but I just got far too excited about driving it away, lol

Carpet matt clips aswell - they where the only thing missing when I collected mine, dealer sorted them within a few days though.

If its not right on the day, dont pick it up, or you will never get it sorted with all the promises in the world.

If you leave it a day or two, its funny as all the things are put right straight away.

If not, ask for a refund.. :)

Make sure the reg plate is correct, I heard of one dealer who delivered a new car and the plates where one digit out!
Obivously as said above check for things like locking wheels nuts, tyre foam, spare key etc but I would also check for wheel kerbage, scratches etc on the body work.

Tell them NOT TO CLEAN IT, you get some pikey with a shitty old sponge who does not give a s**t for your pride and joy who puts swirls all over it and then paints some crap on your tyres, I am dead serious, clean it when you get home mate.

Viscous circle, if its dirty and you don't spot a mark or defect then you will have trouble proving who made it.

Surely the dealer should make sure everthing is in place to ensure a satisfied customer drives away from their dealership ?

Madness if you ask me, typical examples of once they have the money situation.

Behave Maz you can't be serious!

I know Renault get alot of stick on here but there one of many, my old mans had company cars for years and there all as bad as each other, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Vauxhall, infact the only dealer we have had good dealings with have been Saab. And that garage has just closed down!

If it's wet, request that the car is under cover and dry when you come to collect. Then you can check for scratches, dents etc. Mine had a slight scratch on the bumper and no cig lighter, but that was sorted there and then. Take your time and go over it carefully, inside as well. It's probably best to do all this before you pay!

^ your joking ?

The plug is still there, just no lighter, you get a wee push in cover for the plug. you can still run sat nav etc.

If it was me picking up a new car, Id make a list of all the stuff people have said. Know Id forget to check most things in the excitment!
