Any reason my cloths are marring my paintwork ?

  Shed.
Especially my der wunder drying towels. They seem to leave like a hazy mark where the towel has passed over the paintwork. Although this is only on waxed surfaces. Bare paintwork where ive been polishing is fine.

Ill be geting a miracle dryer soon anyways. But even with some detailing spray the cloth i use for that does the same.

is it marring ? or streaking of some sort

Never wipe with them - always blot !

Some QD's leave a slight haze on Black when applied in the sun or on warm panels.

that might be why then.

Blotting still leaves water doesnt it ?

And i did apply qd in the sun.

ps, just to a picture *****, heres my bonnet lol.

Blotting and laying the towel flat should dry it fine.

QD in the sun is can be a mare on black - which one did you use ?

Normal one of the less streaky ones for me.

How much QD did you apply per panel, how warm where the panels, how many cloths where you using ?

I experienced the issue of trying to do ANYTHING to a sunny, hot panel on black on the weekend... never again!

Few squirts on cloth, wipe down. Guessing it was fairly warm as itd been in the sun a good hour and a half.

1 cloth. both sides.

I find it takes about 4 cloths even to do a Clio, one to wipe it around and one to buff it off, then change them for fresh half way round.

looking good. I hate machine polishing in about 5-6 goes. front quater, passenger door and rear quater and the bumper to go, did the boot and finished the rear quater off today.

Then ive got to go round the entire car and srp, seal and wax the thing lol.

On the plus side though Michael once you do it the first time it will never be as bad to do again, I would look to get Menzerna polishes in the future though, they are all I have used by machine (polish wise) and absolutely no reason to change as seem to tackle anything amazingly well.

The Sonus SFX pads are good too, but again they were the first ones I got and replaced them with the same as just worked so well.

Rich - the car is looking well my friend. Slightly easier to look after than the 182's paint I'm guessing?

Easier to correct that is for sure. Was swirled to hell and it was easier to correct than ther lighter dealer inflcted marring the Clio had. That said I never hit the Clio all over with a cutting pad.

Living outside I am washing it alot at the moment, still shows up the dirt like black does !

Ah still not found a home for the 182 yet then? Would have thought that would be snapped up straight away to be honest.

Well, I will have a nice new TWINGO to detail soon too! ;)

182 is sold, just waiting for the V5 to come back after the plate change so the new owner can collect.

Will suit you tbh ;)

Ah nice one, anyone on here?

Just had a call from Porsche UK about a possible job but had to turn it down, but tempting just so I could "borrow" cars when needed!

Twingos ARE cool and you all knows it! ;)

Hmmm Twingo 1.2 Dynamique versus Porsche 911 Turbo...it is a tough choice but think we can all agree the former is the way to go....

Did I mention it is coming in black?!?
