If so ... how did it all go?

Trying to weigh up the extra savings vs. the comfort factor of a bigger broker. Spelling mistakes on web pages concern me!

Not tried them Andy, but my Cup came through New-Car-discount.com

Good price, guaranteed part-exchange, and a five month wait :(

Worth it in the end though as I effectively had five months depreciation free motoring, covering 10,000 extra miles before the Cup arrived.

Mark ... had looked at new-car-discount but they dont have V6s listed, and havent yet called any of the companies who dont have V6s showing to see what they can do. Spent some time looking at 182 prices to get ranking of sites to then extrapolate to possible V6 prices.

Supply on V6 should be fairly predictable due to low numbers and all of them being to order ... once order is made to Renault should be 8-10 weeks. Since Im going to keep the V6 for 3+ years, the pre-reg thing doesnt bother me, and the savings make a BIG difference on the depreciation maths which is why Im very focussed on price.
Dave ... thanks for the other PMd suggestion!

Id recommend giving them a call Andy... Lynsey was my contact, and apart from the 5 month wait (thanks to the Renault summer shutdown I believe), they were true to their word.

Lynsey did also say that what was listed on the website was not a definitive listing, so a V6 may well be possible.

got my 182 from them took about 12 weeks gave me almost £3000 more trade in on my mr2 roadster than my local dealer would and got the clio for almost 3 grand cheaper than my local dealer and the cars not an import or pre reg

Mark ... great minds ... just sent them an email to ask them what theyll do one for :)

Theyre the best on 182 prices ... so lets hope that theyll be equally good on V6 prices! Gave them the target ... which curiously has increased by £300 since I registered an interest yesterday

When you got your Cup, was the V5 transferred into your name immediately?

My Cup was registered on 25/11/03, and Im the second "owner" since 28/11/03... I dont feel thats a problem for me as when I come to sell it (if I ever do) itll be apparent to the purchaser that Im the real 1st owner (last change of ownership details on the V5)... theyre the ones that will have a problem when they sell with their logbook showing 2 previous oweners.

I got my 172 from NCD. Not the best to be honest. I had to do all the chasing regards to delivery etc. But it was cheap. Which is all that really matters. Mine was pre-reg and I got the V5 about a month after it was delivered. Pre-reg has little or no bearing on re-sale value either.

Yep ... pre-reg doesnt bother me at all! When/if I come to sell the V6 in 3+ years time then itll wont matter one bit!

Another good suggestion 172gal ... tho being "new" does inflate the price  £23.9k vs. £21.5k

Ah right, you might be better off going for the cheaper option, but motorlogix source the car directly from a renault dealer in the UK. I have dealt with them before and they are very good.

Originally ordered mine off them. Dont believe their estimated delivery, mine got put back 3 times, causing me no end of probs.
They even claimed to have 1 in stock that i could have, 10 days later they admitted it didnt exist.
Cancelled order and went to motorpoint instead.

Im hoping with V6 that once order is placed (and they can prove to me that it is) that it will appear when they (and Renault) say it will. Not like there can be much contention on supply when theyre all to order!?

buymynewcar order their cars direct from Renault UK.

They are pre-registered but as is said I dont see that as being a problem as long as you are not planning on selling within the first couple of years.

They come with full UK spec (as they are UK cars) and 3 years warranty.

I spoke to someone at Renault in Aberdeen and told them the price that buymynewcar were selling the Megane 225 for and they said to buy it from them as they could go nowhere near it!

Point taken.
But you will spend a fortune ringing them, NCD that is, as they never ring back and the online tracker is useless.

I used Motorlogix, and would recommend them, you have to pick the car up from Blackheath in London though, once they have taken your order you deal direct with the dealer, everytime I rang up he told me where the car was and how long until I could pick it up.
