do people still race round the ring road at night? i heard the council decided to resutrcture the ring road so that it makes it less appealing to race around. lol

nope. you can't anymore. the bottom part, the main striaght if you like, has now been turned into a shared space, which i think works really well, the other sides have been made into two way.

i never used to go "ring road racing myself" but i had friends that did and most of the time it was gentle cruising around and around until the traffic lessened, then people would race between the lights.

it means that whilst you and your mate are tearing down the now two way road not only do you have to dodge the on coming cars you have to give way to the pedestrians trying to cross the street, all at the manic speed of 20mph. ;)
