Anyone given a financed car back to Reno

  Mk2 Golf GTI

As the title says, has anyone ever just give a car back to Renault early if it is still under finance?

My finance agreement is for 3 years but i want to change the car after 2 years (this October). Id rather just give it back to Renault to save the hassle of selling etc but are there usually any fees involved?

If its not possible ill just pay the finance off and sell it private.

Renault are a pain in the ass, theyll make it as difficult as poss for you to give it back!! but you should be able to do it. Ive just paid mine off after 3 years and they dont even make the final payment easy - Its geared for you to walk in to a dealer and buy another renault as thats the easiest thing to do!!!

Im going to have to work out the best option: whether to buy it outright and sell private or just give it back.

Im not going to make money either way!

Easy enough stuff. If you want to give it back give customer services a call (0845 601 0033), they will ask you to send them in writing stating that you would like to voluntarily terminate your agreement, and the following details:

Account No.
Mileage
Tax remaining
Insured or not
Personal opinion of vehicle condition
Where you would like it collected from
Pretty simple, if you have any extra to pay to make up 50% of the total payment they will ask for a cheque of the difference (but after 2 years you should be ok, I was), there are no fees or anything annoying like that. Then they arrange a date and time and take your car away.

I went from a 1.2 to a 172 Cup (bought privately) using the above method!

Love that, sounds like its going to be the easiest option. Ive seen how long its taking people to sell Dynamiques on here and i really cant be bothered with the hassle!!

Especially for the sake of making maybe a few hundred quid.

Cheers
