anyone good with pectel management ?

a friend of a friend is having issues with a company thats mapped his car

basically this is what ive been told

It runs a Jaguar 3 litre V6 running about 380hp it has a Pectel (I think that is the name) ecu which was programmed by a company called Mountune in Essex and it is them who have been causing the problem they seem to be washing there hands but they won't give him access rights to adjust which is why we want someone who can hack in!!

basically it seems they have screwed the map and have locked teh ecu so he cant connect to it him self to remap it

can anyone help or know anyone that can ?

IIRC the pectel just requires a PIN to 'open' the ECU up for future remaps. Assuming he made no such deal with the original mappers that the map was 'his' and they were to supply the PIN he's stuffed for what they've done.

A hard reset / flash of the ECU to factory settings will mean he has to start from scratch, but the ECU shouldn't be junk

God that car would be fun.

A very very fast go kart!

Just seen this thread. On a T6M ECU by any chance?

If so then yes I can help. If it's been a Mountune job from the start then the ECU will be on a Mountune developer. To have access outside of Mountune it will need converting to PEXT (Pectel External), doing so will lose the map.

What is the actual problem with the car? Mountune are a decent lot regards calibration and Trevor Jasper is very handy. Have you done a sensor check and sense checked the outputs? You can do this via EOT (offload tool).

Best call me or e-mail. 01480 861902, info@tour-de-force.co.uk. I'm happy to have a look for you and we're Pectel dealers so if anything does need sorting out we can do so. I'm on circuit this evening until sometime tomorrow afternoon and with a customer Friday. If its urgent e-mail me and I'll send you my mobile no.

Thanks

No PINS or similar on this one. Any Pectel map can be locked via a Password but that's not what is going on here. Mountune have their own developer which requries a copy of Desc with the correct Mountune profile and Mountune dongle to access the ECU.
