Anyone had problems with car just cutting out?

  1.2 16v (Race Spec)
As above, every now and again it just cuts out?? Happened this moring when on a dual carriageway overtaking a car!! sh*t me up!

When it happens the car turns back on and won't rev over 3k and won't let you go over 40mph (obviously no good in overtaking lane on d/c) Also the immobiliser light with the 'glowplug' symbol comes on. Dunno whats wrong.

Its a 2003 1.2 16v by the way.

some kind of throttle issue, check for broken wires on the injection loom they can cut through on the surcurity bracket at the back of the inlet manifold.

Could be any number of things with that engine throtle body wiring and the throttle body cleaning sound the most likly cause.

Will the fact that the car has never been serviced contribute to that?? Its on 31k at the mo.
That won't help but I don't see it as a the man problem.
31k though best get it serviced ASAP even just oil, oil filter and air filter.

Yes I'm getting that sorted when I get paid, long long time overdue. How would I go about getting the other problem sorted - Renault cost a bomb

Not too good with all that, I can get one of the mechanics at work to have a look (citroen), they will be able to sort that out for me even though its a renault won't they?

mine was the MAP sensor

its a small plug on the back on the engine on top left hand side, may need replacing.
