Anyone know what this is?

just noticed this today. It's towards the back of the car an on the left. It's the shines bit. Looks like it should fit on the bracket that comes off the beam. Can't see one at the other side! There has been a suggestion of drop link but it looks to small for that and I thought there would be one at the other side!

Yep so when you have people or heavy stuff in the boot it adjusts the lights down so they don't dazzle people.
