It looks like the bonnet alarm sensor.

It's usually in the manifold. Not the bonnet alarm sensor.

Temp sensor and yes it would cause a boost leak that as a result could cause excess smoke.

garage must of forgotton to put it back in when they changed the head stuck it back in changed the fuel filter and now no smoke unless you give it high revs then its just a puff of black so im happy now just need to sort out the nasty cracking noises
