Anyone managed to acctually fit a gearstick bush repair kit?

Had this sat in a bag for months, so thought id finally fit it.
Can't stretch the rubber enough to fit upper plastic bush.
Any special tricks im missing?

Soak it in boiling water and work quickly. If you want to make it stiffer put an o-ring around the middle of the ball inside.

I found it's best to use some small screwdrivers to lever one side in then work it round.

It'll go on, you'll need to lever it over and then carefully follow it around. Bloody tricky thing to fit.
