  53 Clio's & counting
mine:

Male
27 yrs old
Driving 10 years
9 Years no claims
Banned but back in 2003-every company i speak to says this doesn't effect my policy due to it bring so long ago
No other prev convictions
Never claimed on my own insurance
History of performance cars, never any claims

Car:
2001 Clio 172
mods:
Exhaust, brakes
Value £2000

Conditions:
TPF&T
Kept at SN16 Postcode
Kept in secure garage overnight

After going through company after company, broker after broker (confused etc) the cheapest that i can get it down to is:

£360 a year

I think this is crazy, yes the car was fast in its day, but average nowadays, its not stupidly modded,iv had fast car after fast car, so i don't think im a particularly big risk, but i cannot get it lower than this, anyone else think this is far too much? I mean paying that FC id be happy with but the cheapest FC is £490!!!!

Cheap tbh. My dad is 50 and he would probably only get that down to 280-300 all imo of course.

If the Fc quote is with £100 excess, that's a good quote I'd say.

I pay £370, but that is with £500 excess and my only mod is an exhaust, no points or prangs and I'm, ahem, a little older than you. ;)

Seems a bit high. I'm 27 as well, live fairly near you and have exactly the same history (no convictions though), I ran a fully comp 172 Cup quote with £100 excess last week and it came out at £270 through Go Compare...if I remember correctly the Post Office and eSure came out top. Ironically my Grp 9 Ignis Sport is £229, so only a £60 difference for 7 insurance groups!

What's your annual mileage? That's the only possible difference I can think of, mine is only about 8k. I also added my other half (a teacher) which always brings it down a bit.

Just renewed, £1600, A rated post code, 1 claim (own damage, no one else involved) costing £3500, 18 etc.

Could be worse.
