The rules aren't having any affect on the traffic. It's like it's lumping every user into the admin group rule (one right at the top of the list, lets all admins see everything). So students and staff are getting the same permissions, by the look of things.
Only question is why.. nothing major has changed

Thing is, it had been working fine til my boss installed SP3 and then it stopped working completely. So I've done a fresh install and it's now allowing things thru, but not blocking.
Coudn't you have rolled back to SP2? ( I know a bit late and it doesn't help :rasp
Fresh install today? It will need to download the latest site definitions. In the SC Webfilter manager, what version of the internet threat database are you running. It should be 2127.
Just noticed that the ISA server SP3 is queued for an update on our server too, was it that one which caused the problem?

Checked the services are running? Anything on the Active Directory changed?
That'll be part of the problem then... although how it has happened is beyond me. Are the databases attached properly?
The general list contains all of the categorisation data I think.
Could your subscription have expired? Might explain why you can't pick anything up.
I'm off home. Good luck getting it sorted. Our supplier is normally good at sorting out random problems that I have had, might be worth giving yours a shout.

Have ypou checked in Services in the service manager, they are defo running?
Also is any Server updates due or been installed and server hasnt rebooted.

Just as I was reinstalling it, the (only) leased line dropped.. prompting my boss to blame me for breaking the internet.. to which I had a blazing row with him (the word c**t was used more than once) informing him I'd told him to push the directors for another line.

Redundancy? People never want to invest in it, until it is too late. It took three major outages to really get the ball rolling at our place.

My boss doesn't know where we got it from. Websense still haven't got back to me. I've only been here a few months and I don't know how much longer I'll be here with stupid s**t like this happening.
In the Event Viewer, it's showing it looking to update every list except the General one, despite it being in the file :/
Edit: We bought it direct from SurfControl apparently.. but since they are now owned by Websense and they're ignoring my support tickets I'm up s**t creek
