I know the standard Gaz coilies get a slating on here, but gas anyone used the gold's at all? I know they make very good coilies for other marques......

I trust youve had a proper play with the springs and damping? since the wrong springs on even the best dampers in the world will make it feel dog turd.

The stuff they supply for the vx220s took a few iterations of springs to get just right, its all part of the R&D stuff. Plus their customer service is 2nd to none.

You cant buy aftermarket stuff of that ilk and expect what you get it supplied with to suit your requirements EXACTLY and not bother setting them up.... bit like trying to run ITB's on a base map, bet you'd be mighty fucked off with those etc.

^compare them to any of the german stuff (H&R, Bilstein KW) out the box they're perfect, but their R&D budget is huge

i sold them breifly, very briefly, don't know why but their stuff for the clios just isn't that good, but then again i'm hard to please

lol, you will be VERY hard pushed it impress/please me (im a total s**t of a customer lol) but Gaz have.... I'll see what I can get from them for my 182 if I fancy deviating from OEM.

I was only considering them because I could get a brand new set for £500. But I guess I'll keep saving for one of the others... ( to be decided closer to the time)

I had a set of golds, the rear springs collapsed twice!

Even when they werent broken, they seemed horrible. The ratio between compression and rebound seemed way out, too much damping on the compression and not enough on the rebound, so crashy on bumps them bouncy on the way back up.

i run gaz golds on my mk2 golf gti race car and they're rather good. corners sharper and faster than the apex springed 182 unfortunately.
some people had a few issues with corrosion on the threads but i used chain wax and they're good 2 years later...

That's why I asked.... They work very well on german cars it seems, just don't suit the Clio at all.
Not to worry, I'm saving for a set of those beautiful new ast's

I had a second hand set, one of the fronts and one of the rear leaked all their oil out in 6 months.
