i know the pros and cons of light weight flywheels but what im interested in is has anyone used the K-Tec one for the 172?

ive got 2 new driveshafts and a clutch and new gearbox oil coming for my 172 so just giving it a thought while im at it.

any comments?

cheers

Revs will rise and fall more quickly with a lighter flywheel, and can improve acceleration and engine braking. However, it may affect top speed since there will be less inertia/stored rotational energy therefore the engine will have to work harder to keep it spinning (I think!). With that you'll also experience more deceleration when you go up a hill since there is less rotational inertia to keep the engine spinning.
