anyone using silver vision indcator bulbs

just wondering if any of you are using silver vision indicator bulbs. (the ones that are silver till they light up then they are orange) On the new Clio the orange bulbs are highly visible on the front.

I have read something about Philips SilverVision indicator bulbs somewhere but having had a quick look I cant find it just now.

Im using Silvervision bulbs in my 2001 clio Dynamique. The really are the business! Im using them in the rear light clusters aswell because the orang was also highly visible in the rear. They also flash a brighter, crisper orange than the originals. A small mod which looks trick! Youll prob be about 28 notes for two sets. Hope ive been a help!

I use them front and rear in my silver mk2 172. They look so much better than the standard orange ones.

could anyone possibly tell me for certain what the type code is for the philips silver vision indicator bulbs, front and rear. I want to order some now but want to make sure I order bulbs that will fit! cheers in advance.

They are PY21W. If you look at them the pins on teh bayone fitting are slightly offset, i.e. not directly opposite each other like they are inb the PY21.

so with them being offset does this make any difference? If I order PY21W will they go straight in with no problems?

I have just ordered some from www.powerbulbs.com where they are on offer two sets (front and rear) for £26.95 incl. p&p

The PY21 and PY21W bulbs are slightly different. The PY21 has the 2 bayonet pins directly opposite, i.e. 0 degrees and 180 degrees. The PY21W has them slightly offset, i.e. 0 degrees and 150 degrees.

The Clio uses the PY21W socket/bulb for its indicators. I am not aware that a PY21 is made in the Silvervisions.

I have 2 sets on my 94 clio
they work realy well and look so much better than the orange that was there before.

the pins are at different angles but a file soon fixes that. takes 2seconds and no they dont fall out with only 1 pin.

by the way I paid £9.99 for a set of 2. £26 for 2x sets seems a little expensive.

well on powerbulbs.com they state the silver vision indicator bulbs are PY21W anyway, so no need to modify bulbs front or rear.
as GR said £26.95 will get you 4 bulbs on offer with free P=P

I saw some in Halfords today and they were £14.99 per pack of two.

steve a - thats exactly what I did when i fitted them to the MY01 Impreza I had. That had PY21 sockets, so I files a pin off !
