Anyone with a 1.2 had the ECU remap?

  Mk3 Clio dynamique SX
to increase performance on a 1.2 strip it, stiffen the chassie and suspension add breathing mods with a remap add some big brakes- youll notice a big difference.

mini-valver

You dont need bigger brakes. The Mk2 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 and Mk1 valver and Williams all use the same calipers and discs.

An 8bhp increase may seem a lot and infact is but its all relative, 8bhp onto 75 is still nothing to shout about, yes it will be noticeable....for the first half hour of driving, then you'll be left with an overwhelming 'what the hell did i just waste my money one that for' kind of feeling.

Personally i cannot see any point in mapping a N/A car at all, the gains are offset by the price of the map and if you're car is not fast enough for whatever reason wether it be insurance, first car, refusing to pay expensive fuel bills then the money is better spent on making the car look good untill such times as a faster car can be afforded.

However, if you are in the fortunate position to have more money than sense then map away untill you're hearts content.

Details please:quiet:

Got my old 1.2 mk2ph1 pads smoking after only 15 minutes of some very spirited country lane driving.

I should've mentioned healthy brakes. I CANNOT see a 1.2 smoking brakes that were put on a 150bhp car in 15 minutes... Infact ever. By the time you've spead up to a meaningful speed they'll have cooled down!!

+1 in a 1.2 you don't have to use the brakes anywhere near as much as a more powerful car as you need to carry speed. only have to use them hard for tight corners.
