Apparantly this PH1 is 194.5 BHP???

  Clio RS 172 /Trafic
I had mine remapped at RS tuning and its giving 167.1 bhp at the flywheel and 134 at the wheels. Cat Back Scorpion exhaust and standard 172 air filter. 130,000 miles on the clock. Doesn't use any oil, even after a hard day on the track. I've done 19 track days in it and never had to lift a spanner to it either before or after a trackday apart from regular servicing.

Because the 130WHP is wrongly labelled, its 130 after driving the rollers, so that is taken into account too I would imagine.

also the 130 only became 189 as measured on the day, the 194 was after temp correction to allow for it being a hot day.

But obvioulsy its not actually 194 anyway, clearly a nonsense reading.

my comment was more in refrence to the fact that mine pushed 141.6hp at surrey which was corrected to 171.2bhp , 130->194 is a much bigger leap

Indeed, which is why I was explaining that on some types of rollers its not an at the wheels figures, but a figure after some of the resistance of the rollers as well.

Go and check those graphs again mate as those numbers dont work out quite right IMHO, RS Tuning is dyno dynamics which means it normally assumes 15% loss on a fwd car, so 134 measured at the wheels would then be translated to 157 not 167 as a flywheel guess by the rollers.

As said rolling roads vary so much, one dyno your car will read 180bhp, next 170bhp. People get sooooo hung up on figures, how it performs on the road is what matters. Also 10-15bhp can easily be lost or gained on the road through tyre choice and driver ability, etc...

As the topic is about the car I just purchased, reading the graphs I have, the car was mapped at chipped uk in Birmingham by Enda who I believe does alot of work in the bmw community?

Oh god not jayson. Infamous in the ford scene since he faked a graph for his rs turbo years ago to try and make it look a lot more powerful than it was and he didnt even know enough about the relationship between bhp and torque to make it look realistic. Lol.

Long time ago now though so maybe he has meant the difference between his arse and elbow since. Lol.

Pleased to say I purchased this last night for a bargain price of 1200 as the belts were changed in 2005 and 2009. Will be starting a project thread soon as I plan to track it next year, thanks matt.

All the best with it dude it is a very clean PH1.... Enjoy her pal :)

Looks clean enough though even if power claims are abit sceptical, seen a thread on this car clearly made by the new owner sounds like he got himself a nice example there.
