Not tried either but heard good things about both, I personally would go with the Toyos but I'm a triple 8 fan boy!

What is the difference between the r888 and the r888r? More than just the tread pattern?

I'd like to try the AR-1
The Treadwear is lower (softer compound) think they could be 50 on the 888r's v 100 on the 888's...

R888r are suppose to be the newer version of r888 as far as I can tell so I imagine different ingredients vs the old and slightly different tread
I'm very tempted by the ar-1 but they are suppose to be softer than the already quick wearing toyos! Ha

Also where in track day tyres do the Michelin cup 2 tyres fit in?
They must be doing something for you then if you've had no reason to change! Are you on the r888r now?
Curious on this and looked it up, both 100 TW. Could have sworn they had a lower TW rating. I've got Kumho V70a hard compound to use with a 50 TW rating.

Also scares me how quickly you can get through a set of track day tyres 😅
No mate, gone over to a mix of Kumho V70a and R888s but not fitted the V70a's yet as my current R888s won't die, 4 track days later...

I get all mine part worn from ebay, some real bargains to be had! Got the above R888s last time with 4mm tread (5mm new) for £80...
