Are De-cats worth the money ? ?

I am planning to get a Powerflow stainless steel exhaust system in next few weeks

I was looking at fitting a de-cat to it.

My questions are are the gains really noticeable if i fit one along with my k&n panel filter with uprated feed ?

Also will i get any problems with the sensors that came out my original cat (lambda/oxygen ones that screw in) if i fit one ?

Were do these sensors go ? (Sorry if this sounds silly)

yes decats are worth putting on if anything restricts exhaust gases its the cat

yes, made a noticable difference with my standard exhaust, revs alot easier and sounds more raspy.

Bearing in mind in a straight blast you will not notice a 20bhp gain....1-3 is not worth it.

Spend money elsewhere. New airfreshener or something?!

I put de-cat on and took it off all in same day. Hated the sound it made and no apparent power increase. Knuckles have only just healed up now.

If I was starting again, decat would be my first mod. Without question.

i was thinkin about de-catting my 182.ive just put my standard exhaust back on after havin a btb for a week and not being able to get used off the increased noise level(think im geting old or sumthin lol).is there many off you that have done this with a standard system????looking inside a standard cat it looked bloody restrictive.......

I have a blueflame on my car and it's a very quiet system.

Compared to the ktec which would resonate into a loud drone at 70 on motorway, this is hardly audible. There are stainless exhausts out that arent all that noisy.

dave 3141...........thats interesting you say that.my cousin has just had a blueflame fitted to his megane 225 cup and its a crackin fit and has a real nice subtle tone to it,not much louder than standard.how gud is the fit of the blueflame 182 system you have??.ive been thinkin about tryin theres as it seems gud value for money aswell.

It seems to be rattling abit and the welds are crap. I've had it rewelded last week as it pretty much split in half.

I wouldnt personally buy one, just saying that its quiet, so its feasible to have any exhaust made to suit the sound you are after.

Quality is spot on.

Got a de-cat with full YS system now (pics to follow real soon!) and it's now a fantastic drive. The noise is exactly what I want and lovely and loud, it's given it a much more useful power curve.

Andy (YS) drove my car the day the exhaust was fitted and said it felt just like a PH-Quick the way it drove, with the extra bhp from maxogen, decat and full exhaust.

My rattles are of a superior quality to the rattles from any ph2.
