Argh! Correct Front Brakes.. 172 Mk 2

Hi Everyone,

PLEASE HELP! Im gettin desperate! (lol). Realised I suddenly needed some new front brakes, discs and pads. With a view to not getting ripped off anymore by dealers, went to http://www.gsfcarparts.comwww.gsfcarparts.com near the Trafford Center and bought Pads PN: 7701206379 and 2 x discs PN: 7701206118. Confirmed to be correct by their Renault specialist etc etc. They are being as helpful as poss!

Went to get these fitted at the weekend (not muppets, good lads and they know what they are doing etc) and got told that they were the wrong size (both pads and discs wrong apparently). Took my wheels off and everything, and tried. No luck, I need to go and get the correct ones and come back.

GSF say those are the correct parts as far as they know, theyve called all the Renault specialists in the world blah blah. I called my Renault dealer and was given the SAME part number for the pads, but a part number of: 7701207829 for the discs. GSF dont recognise this dealer quoted part...

People like "DRB" in warrington dont have a clue either..

On my drivers door post I have: CB1N and K001022 which are apparently relevant numbers!?

Other than just handing over my car to the dealer and going "new brakes please" - and giving them a free meal ticket to do what they want, has anyone got any ideas at all?!

No ones had their brakes renewed without a dealer doing it??!

Call Tarox (or a Tarox dealer) - I got mine from there and they sent the right stuff.

I havnt changed mine yet, but you are getting me worried. Ordered some EBC pads (ref DP 1369 for the front and dp1078 for the rear). I am planning to get them fitted tihis week or next so Ill let you know. Also according to EBCs doc, they should be the same ones as the MK1
