Ash from fires

  F56 MINI Cooper S
Can ash from fires damage paintwork at all? Some inconsiderate c**t has decided to have a fire and my car is covered in white ash.

  Not a 320d
Funny, my mates is the same, covered in ash, its been cleaned and its covered in white patricles.

Shouldnt damage it i dont think. If your car is protected then i would imagine a good strong wash and a clay will remove contamination.

Dont know why people bother, just a pain in the ass. It has polish, wax etc on I washed it a couple of days before

Depends. If they are still warm (unlikely) then it can go through protection. But will do very little to paint work. Claying will sort anything mildly heavy, fall out wise.

Other than that, they're just a pain in the arse. Treat them like bird droppings, get a washer/hose on it as soon as you can.

No not warm just flakes of it everywhere. The rain we have had has blended inwith it so not so visable.

But as long as its not damaging
