AST top mount problem

Car  Passat
One of my mounts keeps coming loose after a bit of driving. I'm having to carry a ratchet in the car to tighten the thing up every so often. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Im considering just putting it back to standard. Does anybody know what I need to do that?

Cheers for the help.

Please don't do that, it'll be a bugger to get off without the damper rod spinning.

I had the same problem with mine due to the old design nuts not being deep enough to allow a socket or spanner to seat properly.

Tighten the nut as tight as you can then use a lock nut to hold it in place.
If you have the old style genuine topmounts then just use the nut from that and fasten it nice and tight over the top of the AST nut, if you have the newer style genuine topmounts then you might need to cut it in two so you can use the nut.
