At RS Tuning today.....

Thankfully the poorly car has been fixed. Glad it was done sooner rather than later as in Pauls words if I had "tracked it as it was, it would've popped"!!

Was running very very lean (due to the new airbox) which resulted in it being -16BHP so that explains the low result at the RR day, all is now well and its a different car to what it was!

Once agian, Pauls skills are second to none when it comes to mapping!! And diagnosing the faults with my car!!! Thanks mate!:approve::approve:

good stuff :) surprising the air box would take that much out of it!

Whats it putting out now? im going up there tomorrow.

yeah mate i had a brief chat with him on msn about your poor result the other day he suspected it may have been that

glad its fit and healthy again dude, amazing what a diff that can make lol > i'd better put that decat back on sharpish!!!

  172 5HED
Best was 202.9 but last run was 202.7 so I'll stick with that ;)

Toony, your car ran fooking well mate, why you putting your cat on??

  182
do you go up with naith? how did he get on? i would have been there today if i'd of sorted my power steering.....

Did peadomots turn up in his ghey oil burner?

Nah mate only one BM there Wade has an M3, nice too!!!!

Mate, that car is gonna be rapid!! You know I'll pop over and re-run it now, on their rollers Ill see 220BHP, just for the pub bragging rights lol!! You gonna come down?

automatic ftfl ;)

i'll be there for another run at TDI soon, the NW lads are on about doing a RR day there sometime soon, i just need to mod something else first muhahaha (hmm cat back 2.5" system anyone + AWT/icarus inlet) otherwise pointless!

hmm i wonder if my new setup with the power steering disconnected will be worth a couple of BHP haha

Losing the power steering then?

I'd like to put my 1.2 on the rollers, for the bragging rights of lowest bhp in the NW ;)

Interesting about the airbox...Doesn't have the same effect on the 1*2's! 202bhp is alot more on another roller! (Better for pub talk)

Yup, as we know 202 at RS Tuning, will be 202, but on an old dastek.... Brilliant pub bragging rights, tempted to do it and jointhe rest of the dreamers!!

Put it this way,

the RR day the other week it was 16BHP down on a set of dasteks and still made 206BHP according to them so Im gonna go back and run it now its running as it should for a laugh!! :approve::approve::eek:

IMO Dastek make crackin rollers! Far better than DynoDyamics! lol...But thats my perception!

Ha ha!!! Love it, well Im going to go see them tomorrow and I'll post up a "my car has 220 BHP" thread!! :star::star:

just do the TDI not so ghetto test, turn right at the roundabout like i did instead of left to McD's, couple of nice straight strecthes down there....

  172 5HED
TBH mate, how epic did it sound too in that carpark!!!

The tunage on the way to the chillfactor was a bit suspect though!!

  a thirsty one
im glad its sorted kev, im really surprised it is down to an change of air box making such a huge diff that it could cause engine damage. at the end of the day its the same size tb and the other flow restricitions are still in place but if paul didnt show up any other faults or issues then as long as its now running right thats what matters.

nice one mate.

Cheers mate, the flow itself is far les restricted though so it must have been the sheer volume of air getting to it now?? Strange eh?!

I suppose when you think it was the air/fuel that was way out and it was the filetr I changed it kind of figures but Im in now way techinical so....?????? :boring:

At a recent RR day all VW's were in the ballpark of factory BHP. I beleive the rollers to be accurate...

Who do you believe? lol As long as you use the same rollers though various tuning stages it doesn't matter...

I have to say, first RR i ever went to years back was Dastek and i got a spot on figure, torque, wheels and fly, for a stock car even if they did say my power was down , car running lean and wanted to by-pass the fuel regulator  for X amount of quid

But

Those lads in the link wheels figures are clearly well out but most definitely down to operator error...maybe? ;)

  172 5HED
Tell you what I will do then lads!!! I know my car is on the money on Pauls Dyno Dynamics as they are ball bustingly tight!! I ran 200.4 1st time,

Put my airbox on and took it to TDI North (Dastek) and ran 206 but it was running like a bag o shite, so.... back to Paul at RST, AFR was miles out and was running -16BHP, so fixed that and mapped for the box and made 202.9 topline!!

So in theory, when I go back to TDI I should be way up on 206?? Yeah? I'll pop over after work and try run it and let you know so we can see if mine and others theorys is true!!!

And I promise when I do get a figure that is way up I wont claim to everyone my car runs 5million brake :eek:

Andy, RR's can be fixed so easily...Star performance for example. Even one of the boys megane on here ran alot of power on Pauls RR after a map and then ran a disappointing figure on a MAHA roller. Why was it higher on Pauls "Ego busting" roller than the Maha in this case! Hummmmmmmm....

RR...Pinch of salt?!

Hmmm indeed then on that one mate, not a clue why that was but Paul wouldn't alter the rollers.

guess I'll go ith the big figure I get later today then :rasp:

I would prefer to go with the lesser as a bang on the money figure than the higher one :)
