AUDIO BASICS-your question may already be answered

  172
right thought as we have so many questions referring to the very basics of audio it would be ideal to put all basic audio queries ie.size of speakers, etc

-removal of standard radio

use a set of removal keys such as these, less than £5 from halfords
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/value-universal-radio-release-keys-p-4207.html

you will lose stalk controls unless you buy an adaptor from www.caraudiodirect.com costing approx £40 and provided your radio has the capabilities

-all mk2 speaker sizes

13cm front
13cm rear

-where to wire grommet for power cable for sub and amp pack (mk2's)

looking inside the car under the glovebox follow the bonnet release cable from the handle up to the bulkhead

-whats the best setup?
front speakers amped
sub in boot also amped

-whats the best type of speakers?
components will always allow for a better quality sound with a separate tweeter allowing you to get the most out of your speakers

-what are the better quality makes?
radios
alpine,pioneer,clarion,becker
speaker
rainbow,phoenix,boston,audiobahn,focal
subs
re,jl,focal,audiobahn,rockford fosgate

please use this thread to add useful information, not ask questions, this will be an ideal thread to use for all those queries that are repeated day in day out.if you wish to ask something please pm me or one of the others who are audio gurus.

cheers

if looking into renasaunt engineering subs (RE) then its cheaper to import them as atm there going for about $50 and its $50 to import
= $100
= £50 for entry level RE audio re12v2
caraudiodirect = £94.00

hope helps :)
