Audio from youtube as ring/msg alert???

Can it be done?

I want to select part of the audio from a youtube video and set it as either my ringtone or message tone.

If anyone knows if this can be done a step by step guide would be amazing,

Macbook & iphone btw.

(I haven't even worked out how to get anything other than the default tones on)

Easy peesy!

Download wavepad

http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/masters.html

Find your clip on youtube and convert/download it using something like this..

http://www.video2mp3.net/

Open up the mp3 in wavepad and edit it to what you want and save it somewhere as an mp3. Then right click and change the name from MP3 to M4R (I think).

Open Itunes...and drag the M4R file you have just made into Itunes library...it should go into your ringtones.

Should work on macbook too as I use the above on XP. Or if Wavepad dont work find a decent editor that works...or tell me what you want and il do it for you

Thanks matey, am giving it a go now. Have now got the file in mp3 format and into wavepad. Do I just drag the sliders to where I want to start and end ?? Do I then have to cut this out or something to save?? Have tried it several time but all I seem to be getting is the whole lot saved again......
