Audio help, do i need an amp?

  VRS
im piecing together my stereo equipment and was wondering whether im ok running it without an extra amp for the components?

the ice ive got/going to have is:

Alpine 9853R or Pioneer DEH-P9800BT (still deciding on whether to spend the extra for the pioneer lol)
Rainbow SLX230 Deluxe components in front
standard rear speakers
Vibe active 12" sub

ive seen that some people have their front components powered by a seperate amp? is this neccessary with the equipment ive got?

i dont know anything about ice :(

cheers

ull defo need an amp for the sub

n if you have the money, u could amp up the componenets & the rear speakers

i would recomend a 4 channel amp for both types of speakers (1 channel for right hand side comps, 1 channel for left hand side comps, 1 channel for right speakers & 1 channel for left hand side speakers

& a monoblock amp for the sub

If its an active sub then it has an amp built in, so no amp their, if you want the volume from the front components then you should definately run them through an amp so you get their full potential

Since the sub is active, a 2-channel amp will do for the components. Amping them is a must to get the best out of them.

Don't worry about the rear speakers. Leave them running off the HU for a bit of rear fill if you like that.

I have a deh-p9800bt

Its a top unit, only thing with it (which i am hoping pioneer will do a firmwire update for)

is it isnt able to handle both the handsfree and bluetooth audio steaming from one device (such as a mobile phone)

So although my k800i sony supports bluetooth audio streaming the headunit wont let it if its already connected via the handsfree (and vis versa)

If you still want to buy one (they are top units) then get on ebay and get an american one. I got one, including shipping, for £230. Brand new and it had arrived within 2 days from new york, they had marked it up as being worth $35 so i paid no import duty.

If you can wait, then the sony bt 5000 comes out next month. That looks both stunning, but most importantly can handle the fact that mobile phones are the handsfree and the bluetooth audio streaming device at the same time. (even going as far as pausing music streaming from your phone when it rings)

that pioneer may have the same feature that the deh p30mp has where you can run a sub with no aux amp something to look into;)
