Audio help!

  Clio 1.2 Dynamique
So I just bought my car and it has the standard audio set-up, I'm going to buy a new head unit so I can plug my Aux cable in etc, I've also just purchased some tweeters and wondered how and where I would fit these? (Post a picture f not too much trouble), so yeah, how would I keep the steering wheel controls to work still? And how would I actually fit the head unit? Please give as much help as possible, thanks!

You can buy an AUX cable for the standard head unit to save more expense on a steering wheel remote adaptor aswell as a new headunit.

In reply to the speakers they need to be replaced with a component speaker (tweeter and woofer separate) i suppose any would within the working range of the standard stereo.

If you have a search on here there are some plug and play pioneer units that will save you wiring in your crossovers from the new component speakers.

Where would the aux cable fit and plug into though? I wouldn't have to start drilling holes or anything would I? Haha

Into the back of the stereo, these aftermarket aux cable utilise the CD changer port of the OEM head unit.

Many have routed to different places, Knuckles has done a guide for this. Have a browse/search for this and it'll help you alot.

So everything would still work the same with the adapter and the aux cable? I can't find the thread anywhere

For steering column controls to work, you will need something like a connects2 adapter. These are little boxes that sit behind your radio and connect to the CAN bus and to your aftermarket HU (provided your HU can supports it).

His is a different centre console to mine?

its the same principle. Its just a connector that fits into the back fo the stereo and has a 3.5mm female jack on the other end. Route it via the glove box or out down around the drink holder area. You don't have to drill holes.

If I don't need to buy a new head unit I won't do. Just tell me what I would exactly need to fit a AUX cable to the standard hu please? Links if possible

TBH I wouldn't bother changing the speakers if you're keeping the std head unit, the quality from the source is crap and will not change much at all, i just bought a Pioneer ones for £90 that is Android and bluetooth compt and the sound quality combined with some rockford fosgate speakers all round which I got from CAS for £90 is immense, it makes a massive difference and you'll be able to have your sound up without worrying over speaker rattle and distortion.

Did these speakers just straight swap over or did you have to mount them?
