How many do you need on your cd player to be able to connect up a sub with front and rear speakers?

yup. you got it most cars come with either 2 or 3 outputs which allows subs and then either 1 or two pairs of speakers

You can get away with 2 RCA output.

Don't both with rear speakers just use a good set of front comps. and the sub.

you really only need 1 set,
not sure if that what people mean when they've put 2,
put if you run your speakers off the intergrated amp,
you only need 1 set of preouts for the sub

ye i agree. Its for my brother as he has a sub and amp and is getting a new cd player but i'm assuming he wants to keep his rear door speakers working which is why i wondered how many pre outs the cd player needs.
