Auto lights not coming on

Just recently got a new windscreen fitted and now when i start the car the lights wont come on unless i flick the stalk round. Tryed resetting them with the flick the stalk twice but never worked. Also had to fit a new battety today, could that have anything to do with it? Anyone got any idea's?

Turn the ignition on, and then put the lights on, and off a few times, and the auto function should work again.

Or do a search, IIRC someone has written a guide on this.

I think if you turn them on and off repeatedly until you hear a beep, that will reset them.

However, I may have just made that up...

Do you two mean just flick it to the sidelight position or round to dipped beam. Done it to the sidelights so it beeped to say it was on but still no luck

No, twist fully on and fully off.

Do it a few times until it bleeps though.

I think that is how I fixed mine a few months back.

Just tryed and it beeped but no luck. Is there a fuse that's to do with the auto lights?

Ok, try it again now.

So do it again until it beeps again...

This might fix it.

Done it so it bleeped once then started the car, no lights. Done it so it bepped twice then started and still no lights. :S

2 beeps is auto lights on, 1 beep is off.

Have you done it with the car running? Until you hear two beeps, then turn the car off, ensuring that the lights are in the off/auto position on the stalk.

Then turn the car on again.

Never done it with it running. Will bugger about with it tomorrow. Getting to late to start making a noise with it just now haha

Engine on > from fully off >lights fully on and off &again lights fully on then off > on off you should get a beep. IIRC.

lets just hope they fitted the correct screen for you as not all clios have the auto lights so dont have the little gap in the blackout behind the rearview mirror.

Pretty sure it's the correct screen. Has the purple looking box thing at the bottom of it and the one at the top :/

Chances are the sensor hasn't been refixed to the screen properly

hi i fixed mine last night turned out the relay under the dash on passenger side there is a few relays and some 1 had knocked it loose with there feet so just pushed it back in and they was fine. try that!
