Auto Lights

My mate has a 172 with the auto light turn on. Only thing is that they dont turn on automatically!!!!

Is there a way to turn off this feature, or has my my mate been struck with the Renault build quality curse?? Please help

yea you can disable/enable it buy turning the very end twist thing on ya indicator stick to the bottom position then back up then down again twice an it beeps to tell ya its worked.

The infor for this is in the handbook but I think it goes along these lines...

Put key in ignotion and turn to first place, move the lights from off to on, back to off to on, back to off (turning the on/off twice) and you should hear a beep to confirm.

Do the same to disable.

tell him to turn the ignition on while holding the info screen button (on the end of the wiper stalk) in.. that should really get him crapping himself

It puts the trip computer and dials into diagnostics mods so all the lighs on the dash go on and the speedon and rev counter run up and own there scale.

Thats how 1.2 owners claim over 120 as they take a picture when the cars in diagnostics mode and the rev counters running though its potential.

Works on any Clio with the switch there on the indicators.

Ye what he said, it just puts it into diagnostic mode.. dont do any harm but starts beeping and all the dials start moving like crazy heh, just turn ignition off and back on to stop diagnostic mode.

You know, that trip computer had me baffled for ages - the manual said you can set a clock in it when obviously you cant.

Auto lights are okay, but theyd be better if they were in 2 stages...like, sidelights when its starting to get dark, then dipped beam when its about fully dark.

if you press the end of the wiper stalk when in diagnostic mode you can also get a reading in litres of how much petrol you have in ya tank
