Auto wipers??

Can you switch the Autowipers of on a 172 there doing my head in and have a mind of there own!

So we're mine today! But this afternoon I smeared some clear gel on both sides of the sensor and they worked bloody well!

Click the stalk down again and it will just be constant instead of auto? Or click all the way up to turn them off. :S not sure if serious!

So is there no way to just turn them off as id like them to just smear now and again which they then theu suddenly go mental

Turn the ignition on, i think you push the wipers all the way down to the fastest position and back to 0 a couple of times. It might beep - cant remember - turn the ignition off, then switch the engine on, and dab a wet finger on the sensor to see if they're off.

P.s you can alter the sensitivity of them too...

Or just put the stalk up to the top? That's off, then second click down is on a slow pace ?
