Automatic Lights have stopped working

I have a 2002 Clio Extreme which features automatic lights when you start then engine in the dark.

Recently these have stopped working automatically and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about what might be wrong and what I can check?

Welcome to Cliosport.

If they are anything like the 172/182 ones then you may have disabled them by mistake.

I think....with the key in the ignition in position 2, but the engine not running, switch the lights on.off.on. You should hear a beep to signal that you have either enabled or disabled the autoheadlamps. If that doesnt work then theres obviously a real problem.

You have to do it twice, to enable and disable the auto lights.

^ that is one possibility - if that does not work it may very well be the automatic light / rain sensor fitted to the base of the internal rear view mirror. We have had quite a few of these go wrong in the past - part no is 8200071210 £113.54

warranty job me thinks if they havent been disabled.

I hated the auto lights anyway, first thing I did when I got my Dynamique was turn them off.

Thats because its a bit ignorant to have lights on in those "special" car parks you keep goin on about Mike
