Aux' belt changed, but not the kit?

  06 LY 182
Hi all,

After a search on my cars history to see if I need the aux' belt changed, I have found that the previous owner ONLY changed the belt and nothing else. I have a March 2006 182, currently 48k on the clock, this belt was changed at 32k/3yr mark.

I'm I still safe with this or was it pointless getting it changed but the with the tensioner kit too?

Cheers

Colin

Well it's only 6 months off a cambelt change, just get it all done at same time?

I changed mine (belt only) as it was squeaking like hell (and 3 years over due), didn't make one bit of difference in terms of the noise. :(

Do I also need to replace the kit?

If they squeal it means the pullies are knackered, well that's my understanding anyway

I wasn't too bothered before as it only did it after firing her up, but now it's doing it whilst the engine is warm, as you can imagine pulling out of a junction/roundabout only to find your car has no power and is screaming like a motherfucker isn't too pleasent.

no point changing a belt and no tensioners....unless its off anyway and its already been changed.for example if you have had cambelt an tensioners changed then 6 months later the dephaser goes.then you may aswell throw a new cambelt on while doing it

if its due dont change just the belt

Just called t'garage, waiting on a quote now.

I had my cambelt changed with the kit only because he recommended it, didn't say anything about the kit with the aux belt so didn't think nowt of it.
