Ph2 Flamer
Hi
Have reposted this as originally thought it was the timing belt (doh).
Pictures attached but basically having looked under the car the wheel which according to the Haynes manual is the wheel attached to the power steering pump is completely loose. I can't see whether it's snapped off or what but it's certainly not attached to the pump and is the cause of the auxiliary belt being off.
I've had a butchers on ebay and used pumps for my model seem to be around the £30 mark plus postage. What I'd like some input on is whether anyone has seen this happen before, whether it's worth a novice trying to sort it out (have done sparks, indiction kit, changed discs, pads, washer pump etc before but nothing involving the engine or steering).
Any indication on what this is likely to cost to fix if I take it to a tidy mechanic (for fitting the pump and putting the aux belt back on).
Also if anyone on here is from around the Newport South Wales are can reccomend a mechanic that would be great as well.
Cheers
